The cottage is beautifully clean and well-presented, with little surprises everywhere. The views are gorgeous, with plenty of places to visit close by. Highly recommend a few nights to explore the area and enjoy the cottage.

Weekend escape….

March 22, 2017

This has to be one of the Byron hinterland’s best kept secrets; an intimate, well-appointed cottage with stunning views over rolling green hills, instantly relaxing. Perhaps that’s because of the welcoming fresh flowers and fruit and other thoughtful touches like fresh bread and homemade jam that say welcome. Or is it sitting on the verandah with a glass of wine in a comfy squatters chair listening to birdsong or watching the horses and cows, while drifting into a pleasant siesta. Simple pleasures! This was our second visit in a month and we shall be back again soon, I hope.

“Wonderful retreat”

Other reviews say it all….. a cosy, well equipped cottage with wonderful views and an expansive deck to enjoy them from. So much wildlife to be seen – birds, cows & horses.
The owners were very accommodating. This is such a relaxing place to stay and the extras – fresh bread, jams, fruit, chocolates & flowers were greatly appreciated.
There’s much to do & see in the area. We enjoyed Minyan Falls, Rocky Creek Dam, Protestor Falls, the Eltham Pub and of course Byron Bay & lighthouse.

“Best Accommodation in the Hinterland”

Nightcap cottage is a gorgeous, homely dwelling with stunning views of the Hinterland. Mick & Susie are delightful hosts who have thought of pretty much everything to offer guests a comfortable stay. The renovated interior is stylish & welcoming & the cottage is surrounded by birds, horses & rolling green hills. Truly lovely & highly recommended.

“Beautiful views and a homely cottage”

We stayed two nights at Nightcap. We got there pretty late as we drove down from Brisbane after work and was welcomed with a fridge stocked with all the staples including milk, butter, freshly baked bread, homemade marmalade (wish we had a whole tub of it) and a very comfy and clean cottage. The cottage was well appointed and felt like we were staying at a friend’s place with books, dvds, and pantry items well stocked for the guests. And the views were just amazing. Would highly recommend as a weekend getaway for a couple or even a young family.

Very Quiet Weekend

July 11, 2017

After a brief hiccup in trying to find the turn off to the property we were very pleasantly surprised at the lovely setting and its very quiet location. The hosts are very welcoming and the little touches such as a freshly baked loaf of bread and homemade marmalade just topped things off. There is nothing at Coorabell but lovely scenery but you are only 10 to 15 mins drive to Bangalow and a short drive to Byron Bay.

Comfy cottage in the Coorabell hills

June 6, 2017

My stay at Alfie’s cottage was perfect for all the right reasons. Charming hostess Susie met me at the door along with gorgeous pooches Gus & Maisie, inside was super cosy and comfy but best of all the freshly baked loaf of bread, homemade jam and other goodies really said welcome . Close to Bangalow & Byron made my short visit super easy, thank you so much!

I will miss this place a lot!

My husband and I absolutely loved Alfie’s cottage. If we didn’t live so far we would have made it a new tradition. My dogs were so happy roaming and exploring. The cottage was clean, full of character and had everything we needed. I have been to many holiday homes but didn’t feel so magical like Alfie’s. Thank you Susie and Mick. Created lots of happy memories. All the best till next time.

“Wonderfully tranquil and comfortable retreat…for the dogs too”

Lovely retreat in the Byron Bay hinterland, not far from Byron itself or Mullumbimby. The cottage is set against a beautiful lush green countryside with plenty of privacy and freedom for the doggies who loved it as well… The cottage is very comfortable, the extra amenities and fresh bread loaf was a very nice and caring touch ….we will come back….

“A perfectly delightful cottage in wonderful surrounds”

I could not fault Alfie’s in any way, attractive décor with everything provided for a comfortable stay – I was accompanied by my two miniature schnauzers who loved the freedom of wide open spaces to run. The green hills and rain forest views are just superb, providing peace and tranquillity and yet only a very short drive to all that is on offer in Byron Bay and the Hinterland area, as well as all the beautiful coastal beaches.
